Western Traders is family operated dealership specialising in selling consignment stock and trade of heavy transportation equipment including trucks, trailers and machinery.

They are a licensed second hand and motor dealership for the heavy vehicle industry.

With beginnings trading trucks and tractors on a vacant lot in Toowoomba, Western Traders have grown their presence across Australia and now sell or auction on average 100 heavy vehicles each month.

The Challenge

Western Traders used the AdManager functionality in AssetEX to upload and list their heavy vehicles on retail websites like eBay and Grays Online, but they then needed to re-key equipment details into their own website to promote listings there.

They were looking for a new website that integrated directly with AssetEX to avoid double handling of listing information, and where they could conduct online auctions.

The Solution

Clevvi rebuilt the Western Traders website, providing integration to allow direct and automatic feeds listings from AssetEx.

We also implemented and customised an online auction platform that gave Western Traders the capability to create an auction event for their heavy vehicles, set the reserve and run the auction once a month.

Clevvi recommended a customised auction system instead of a software as a service or off the shelf option. This allows Western Traders to ownership of all the bidder data unavailable in most online auction services. Western Traders can then remarket other listings to these pre-qualified buyers. Western Traders also us the bidder information to negotiate post auction deals for items that don't sell at auction.

A professional looking PDF can be generated from all listings on the Western Traders website. This can be printed out or emailed to potential buyers during remarketing efforts.

The website functionality was extended to allow private sellers to list their own heavy machinery for auction. This strategy has increased the pool of stock available to Western Traders to remarket and driven more traffic to their website.

Clevvi also manages Western Traders’ digital marketing and email marketing system to generate traffic for their listings. The digital marketing strategy includes Facebook and Google remarketing to let interested parties know about new auctions and keep them coming back to the site.

We meet with Western Traders monthly to assess and match key words to the stock available at the time and make sure they are getting the best value from their marketing efforts ad spend.
