Are you making the most out of your Google My Business Listing? You probably see Google My Business (GMB) listings every day but did you know that you can claim them to leverage to your business' advantage?
In this video, John shows you exactly how to make the best use of your GMB listing to increase your potential customers.
Editing basic business contact info
Google My Business is a great place for customers to quickly get all the basic details about your business, that's why it's essential to ensure it's up to date. In the video, we show you how to edit all the basic info about your business, such as:
- Business name
- Phone number/s
- Opening hours (including specials hours for holiday periods)
- Address
- Website link
- A link to a booking form, if you're a service who would take appointments
- Specific services, including a description and prices if applicable
Keep updated by making posts!
Google My Business has a feature similar to Facebook, where it allows you to create posts to the listings. Posts can include content, picture, a link and an optional button. There also custom post layouts for events, offers and products, making it even easier for customers to see what's new at your business.
Show more with images
You have the ability to add images to your GMB listing. Images are a great opportunity to show customers:
- what your office looks like to make it easier for customers to find your business
- Show the friendly faces of your team
- See examples of your past work or product images (if applicable).
Reviews are golden
Reviews are one of the important parts of a GMB listing. Reviews are one of the factors that determine how well your business ranks in the GMB search results. The more positive review, the higher your business is likely to rank.
As a business, should encourage your customers to leave reviews on your GMB listing and you should also reply to all reviews, positive and negative. When responding to negative reviews, keep in short, try to be understanding and if possible, offer to rectify the issue.
Learn more with Google Insights
Google Insights gives some useful, easy to understand insights about how your listing is performing. You're able to view data based on different time frames, also how people have come across your listing (Directly or Discovery) and a variety of other statistics.
Multiple users allows for access flexibility
There is the ability to add multiple users and apply different permissions to users. This means that multiple people can access the listing which makes it easier to ensure all the information is up to date.
Have an AdWords account? You can link it up
You can link your GMB to your Google AdWords account, which is useful if you're running search campaign. There's a chance your GMB listing will appear next to your paid search advert, making it even easier for customers to contact you.
