The Australian Web Industry Association (AWIA) is one of the largest dedicated web industry associations of its kind in Australia today.

A not-for-profit, AWIA connects more than 7,000 active members – including creative agencies, freelancers, designers, web developers and copywriters – who meet regularly across the country for talks, networking and skills sharing.

The Challenge

AWIA was evolving and their website didn’t fully reflect the value that they delivered to their 7000 members.

They were looking to re-develop their website and achieve a more efficient way to update their members’ details and better outline the membership benefits to existing and potential association members

The Solution

Clevvi collaborated with 2 other Association members, Stead Lane and Dr Marion Piper to deliver the project. Stead  Lane produced the back-end development for the site, Marion produced the site content while Clevvi provided the design and structure for the site.

In the design phase we saw an opportunity to increase the value provided to members and attract more members to the AWIA. Clevvi proposed the inclusion of searchable members directory on the website. Now when a potential customer visits the AWIA site, they can search for and review the profile of AWIA accredited web developers in their local region.

AWIA members can update their own profiles through a self-help portal, removing this time consuming data entry for the AWIA staff.

The member directory has not only provided potential leads for AWIA members but has also supported the recognition of AWIA standards as a brand differentiator and a mark of high quality when customers are selecting a web designer or developer.

Why Clevvi?

By thinking strategically about the outcomes of the project for the AWIA, our team was not only able to come up with a solution that met their brief, but also added value through introducing the members directory to connect members to customers, and a self-help portal for members to maintain their own listings

The Outcome

In designing a website for an association of peer designers and website developers, the eyes of the industry are on you. The successful implementation of this project within a compressed 6 week timeframe is testament to our ability to deliver high quality work and meet deadlines.

A committee of designers and web developers approved each stage of the design without key changes, and the development process ran smoothly. We believe that the key to our success is our streamlined approach to delivering a website efficiently and in line with customer expectations – we develop the content first, then design the site according to the approved brief.
